10 questions for Mikel

Michael is a good example of this: even in his first few months, he was actively involved in processes, allowed to take on responsibility and drive forward his own topics. Here he explains what motivates him, what challenged him - and why he deliberately chose this path.

  1. Mikel, you've been with Angermann NRW for six months. What attracted you to training in the Industry & Logistics division?

    I had wanted to work in the real estate industry for a long time - either as an estate agent or perhaps later as an owner. I looked at a lot of companies and finally came across Angermann NRW. The external image, the reviews and the professional impression convinced me. Looking back, it was definitely the right decision.

  2. How would you describe your first six months at Angermann NRW in three words?

    Exciting. Responsible. Team-oriented.
    You experience a lot of new situations here, are given responsibility early on and are part of a real team right from the start - from trainee to management.

  3. What does training mean to you personally - and what is the difference for you between "running along" and "working along"?

    For me, training means being allowed to learn. Being allowed to make mistakes. Trying things out.
    There is a clear difference: joining in means watching. Participating means taking responsibility. And that's exactly what is encouraged here. I want to take things into my own hands, find my own solutions and actively contribute - not just stand on the sidelines.

  4. Was there a moment when you realized: Do people really trust me here?

    Yes, definitely. At short notice, I was asked to carry out an inspection of around 12,000 square meters - in English, with international decision-makers. That was new, challenging and, to be honest, a bit nerve-wracking. But it's precisely in moments like these that you realize how much trust you get here. And you grow from it.

  5. You got involved in an internal working group on AI at an early stage. Why was that important to you?

    Because I don't want to do things half-heartedly. If you can improve processes - for the team and for the company - then you should do it. AI in particular helps us to work more efficiently and set ourselves apart from the market. It was important to me to go beyond the expected and create real added value.

  6. What has been your biggest personal challenge in your training so far?

    Clearly: telephone calls. Direct contact with decision-makers, managing directors and owners. It takes some effort at first. But you learn very quickly that practice gives you confidence. Today, many things are much more routine - expertise and self-confidence grow with every situation.

  7. What have you learned about yourself in the last few months?

    That self-confidence makes a huge difference - both professionally and privately. You don't have to know everything, but you should stand by what you say. Mistakes are part of it. If you dare, you will develop further.

  8. What do you think makes Angermann NRW a special training company?

    The responsibility. The freedom. The real practical relevance.
    You don't just "do your time" here, but are out and about, in contact with customers, involved in ongoing processes. That's not a given - and that's what makes the difference.

  9. Where would you like to be professionally and personally in two to three years?

    Professionally, I want to be able to manage my topics independently and confidently. Personally, I want to be even more self-confident and convince people of my work - with competence, clarity and attitude.

  10. What advice would you give to young people who are thinking about training in the real estate industry?

    Be open. Be courageous. Leave your comfort zone.
    It's a demanding but extremely exciting profession - and you grow faster than you think.
